Ullrich can hold on to Olympic gold medal
from Cyclingnews News Headlines on 2/9/10 4:17 AM
Jan Ullrich will continue to hold on to his gold and silver medals from the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) says it lacks sufficient evidence to take action against the former German professional on suspicion of doping. “The investigation is closed,” said IOC Communications director Mark Adam, according to the SID news agency. “It can only be re-opened one time, if there is new evidence against him. Cozza breaks collarbone in Qatar
from Cyclingnews News Headlines on 2/9/10 1:12 AM
Garmin-Transitions' Steven Cozza became the second rider to broke his collarbone during stage two of the Tour of Qatar on Monday after Team Sky's Kurt-Asle Arvesen's fracture. The likeable rider from California hit a pothole in the rough roads and lost control of his bike. Unfortunately he landed on his left shoulder and his collarbone gave way, fracturing in the same point it had during two previous career crashes. It meant the end of Cozza's race and he will now travel to Belgium to have a plate ...

Torque wrenches: Why you need one and how to use them
from Cyclingnews Features on 2/8/10 8:07 PM
Torque wrenches were once considered an optional luxury, even in better bike shops. But more aggressive advances in bicycle frame and componentry technology now require stringent handling in terms of service and maintenance and even the most finely calibrated 'mechanic's feel' can't substitute for the real thing. Consider yourself warned... Today's high-end parts are lighter, stiffer, often stronger, and definitely more expensive, and yet simultaneously more delicate as they’re increasingly ...

Haussler: Cervelo will go on the attack in Qatar
from Cyclingnews News Headlines on 2/8/10 5:07 PM
Heinrich Haussler had vowed revenge before the start of stage two after the Cervelo Test Team riders were penalised a minute after Haussler pushed Gabriel Rasch during the team time trial. And he backed up his words with action during the 147km stage. Haussler insisted he had pushed Rasch to stop him crashing but the judges saw otherwise. The team had briefly threatened to quit the race but turned its disappointment with the decision into anger on the road. Just like in 2009, the Cervelo Test Team ...
